Communication, confidence & connection — built on strengths
I’m Natalie Amorim, a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Mindful Speech, serving families across Winter Garden, Windermere and the greater Orlando area.
My philosophy
I provide neurodiversity-affirming speech and language therapy — an approach that honors how each child naturally communicates rather than trying to make them fit a mold. Every child has a unique way of connecting with the world, and my job is to understand it, support it, and help it grow.
My sessions are play-based and child-led. When children are engaged in play they love, communication happens naturally and joyfully — and the skills they build carry over into real life. I focus on each child’s strengths, interests, and motivation, never on a list of deficits to “fix.”
Who I work with
I support children with a wide range of communication and developmental differences, including:
- Autism and social communication differences
- ADHD and attention-related communication challenges
- Anxiety that affects communication
- Late language development and late talkers
- Gestalt language processing (often seen as echolalia)
A specialty: gestalt language processing
Many children are gestalt language processors — they learn language in whole phrases or “chunks” rather than single words, often repeating lines from shows, songs, or favorite people. This is a natural and valid path to language. I’m certified in the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) Protocol, which is designed specifically to support these children as they move toward flexible, self-generated language.
Families are at the center of everything I do. I share strategies, answer your questions, and coach you so progress continues long after each session ends.
